Choosing a Location to Visit
Many people want to travel, but just don't know where to go! We've created this guide to help you. While we can't tell you where exactly to go (though we can certainly name quite a few memorable places!)
- Ask yourself a few questions before even THINKING of reading the rest of this page: Have I ever wanted to go somewhere close by for an overnight stay, but never gone there? Have I ever wanted to go anywhere for an overnight stay, but never gone there? Is there a place I'd like to visit again? If your answer was yes to any of these questions, then STOP reading this guide RIGHT HERE. Good. If your answer was no, continue.
- Do you like a certain climate? Do you like a certain type of forest or natural beauty? If your answer was yes to any of these questions, type "____ climate in ___state____" into your search engine, or "______ forests near ____hometown___". That should narrow down your search quite a bit. Write it down or try searching for a place like that on a search engine.
- Have you ever wanted to try a certain activity or teach your dog to swim? Type this into your search engine, and see if any results pop up. (HINT: Many dogs seem not to like baths and/or water. Detective Pups is like this, and we took her swimming. She LOVED it! Of course, she is part Labrador!) Write it down or try searching for a place like that on a search engine.
- Do you have a hectic life and just want to get away from it, taking your dog with you? Or do you want to go on a family vacation, with the kids, too? Write it down or try searching for a place like that on a search engine.
- A. If you haven't come up with a perfect (or close-to-perfect) place to travel to yet, I'm running out of steam! Get a map of the state or region you live in, close your eyes, and point to someplace randomly. B. If you've gone down this list, you should have found a list of things you'd like to do, a climate you want, and who you want to go on your trip. Combine these things together and Google it! Keep in mind that you may not find the absolute-perfect place, but you might find something quite close to it.
